Interior Decorating Process – Joy By Design

The most successful projects are those which start with a comprehensive brief that is as detailed and project-specific as possible.

Your requirements, aspirations, budget and time-line in which your project needs to be realised will be outline in the brief.

The type of research and preparation prior to a Joy by Design presentation will differ from project to project.

In the case of designing a retail environment like a store or restaurant, for example, we will research the brand inside and out, and understand the customer base. In other instances, Joy by Design may spend time observing how a client uses their existing space in order to understand where they should position functional parts of their design such as lighting, doors or electric outlets.

Each project is unique and the process varies.

Joy by Design will present mood boards, fabric and/or paint swatches, supplier options, projected costs, timelines and a project plan.

Adjustments may be made along the way as briefs may alter after the process has begun.

Changes to the brief may impact the budget and could have a ripple effect on the proposed completion date. These are considerations that need to be taken into account when changes are being made after presentation of mood boards.

Each project is unique and therefore there are no fee guidelines.
